constitutes 20-25 % of benign bone tumors (1), and has been estimated to be present in 1-2% of individuals based on extensive skeletal evaluations. The chest radiography findings in our case resembled those of a mediastinal mass lesion. An osteochondroma usually is composed of cortical and medullary bone that is continuous with the parent bony cortex and medullary canals. The clinical significance of a radiological diagnosis of an osteochondroma concerns the identification of malignant transformation of primary lesions and the differential diagnosis from other tumors of the skeleton (2).

Mediastinal lymphangioma is primarily a benign lesion and the majority of the cases are found incidentally. These lesions account for approximately 1% of all mediastinal tumors. Here we present a giant mediastinal cystic mass in a 35-year-old female who was presented with severe respiratory distress. On the plain chest radiography and CT scan, a massive left pleural effusion with large paraster...

Osteochondroma Arising from the Thoracic Transverse Process

The incidence of osteochondroma is rare and only 2% of such tumors are found in the spine area. When they are found in the vertebral column, less than 1% of all osteochondromas and few tumors occur in the thoracic vertebrae. An osteochondroma arising from the transverse process of the vertebra is even rarer, especially following from the thoracic transverse process. Here we report a giant solit...

A 12 years-old boy presented with swelling over his right proximal tibia of one year duration associated with pain in the last three months. Examination revealed a 4 x 2cm bony mass arising from the proximal tibia. Radiographs revealed an osteochondrom...
